Smart rape victim forced to call boyfriend but calls 911 rather
Police say quick thinking by the victim of a
frightening abduction and assault helped them
catch her attacker in the act.
The attack happened early Monday in the back of
an adult entertainment store.
Officers say Robert Giles, 27, asked the victim to
call her boyfriend so he could hear the assault.
Instead of calling her boyfriend, she called 911.
Police say the savvy 911 operator also kept his
wits about him and played along unbeknownst to
the attacker.
“It was quick thinking on his behalf. In fact,
(it) might have saved her life,” Clayton
County police Maj. Joe Woodall said.
Officers say Giles kidnapped the victim from
Hapeville and brought her to the closed Starship
Novelties and Gifts store on Tara Boulevard
around 4 a.m. Monday intending to rape her.
That’s when he allegedly asked her to call her
boyfriend so he could listen to the assault.
Deonte Smith was the only man working as a
Clayton County dispatcher early Monday, when
that call came through and he played along.
The victim called 911 and told her attacker it was
her boyfriend. The 911 operator, Deonte Smith,
played along.
“She explained to him what the perpetrator
had told her; that he was wanting him to
listen while she was being raped,” Woodall
said.
The operator tried to talk the attacker out of the
assault and sent police. Police quickly arrived and
say they arrested Giles in the act.
“They were able to stop it right then and
there and snatched him right from the car,”
Woodall said.
Smith told Channel 2 Action News on Tuesday he
was just doing his job, but the timing of the call
was crucial.
“Honestly I’d say divine intervention,” Smith
said. “I was the only guy on the floor that
night. The other guy we had had just left
not too long before the call came in.”
Smith said the victim deserves credit for her
quick thinking while being assaulted.
Giles now faces rape, false imprisonment and
obstruction charges. Hapeville police are
preparing kidnapping charges against Giles.

Police have released the image of a man who is
accused of putting his hand down his trousers
and masturbating as he looked at the 29-year-
old woman inside a train.
The pervert who could not hold himself while
staring at the pretty woman caused a public
disturbance. Police is now looking for more
information to arrest the man.
The suspect was a pa$$enger on a train
travelling northbound from President Street
station in New York City when he opened his
trouser and began performing the act in front of
the woman. The alleged incident took place on
Sunday at 4pm.
He is alleged to have continued to touch himself
for more than half an hour, according to police.
The woman involved took a picture of the
suspect and sent it to police, Pix11 reports.
The man who was photographed had a
prominent tattoo on his forehead reading: “TEAM
USA.” Anyone with information is advised to call
the US version of Crimestoppers.

A 16 years girl of age commits suicide after she has been rape as a punishment
A 16-year-old girl in India was found hanging on
Christmas day after apparently taking her life.
She had been kidnapped and gang-raped as
punishment for her mother winning a local
election. She went to the police with her mother
to report the matter but she wasn't taken
seriously. Feeling humiliated and traumatised, she
took her own life. It was only after her death that
police swung into action and arrested two
suspects.
The Socialist Party candidate in Mirzapur, Arvind
Sen, said that the girl was gang-raped to avenge
the poll defeat, allegedly by relatives of a losing
candidate.
Her mother was elected for the local government
faction, the block development council, in the
Mirzapur district of north-east India.
However, a senior police officer told said that a
post-mortem report did not find signs of rape.
The latest incident is the latest high-profile case
to spotlight women's safety in India in recent
years. Two construction workers were arrested for
the rape of a woman on the premises of tech
giant, Infosys. The men, aged in their 20s, filmed
the alleged assault, which occurred on Sunday at
one of the IT firm's offices in the western city of
Pune in Maharashtra state, officers said.
It comes a week after lawmakers passed a bill
allowing harsher punishments for juveniles aged
16-18 following an outcry over the release of a
young rapist who served three years in a
detention facility for his part in a notorious gang
rape in 2012.
Earlier this month, an Indian court sentenced
seven men to death after they were convicted of
the rape and murder of a Nepalese woman
suffering from mental illness, reports said

CONCERT’ (OLIC2).
As at 2pm local time, the Eko Hotel &
Suites was filled to capacity as a
mammoth crowd thronged the
prestigious hotel lobby and premises
to buy tickets and be first in line to
witness what has become, the most
prominent entertainment spectacle
in Nigeria.
Fans were treated to the most
scintillating of performances at the
Eko Hotel’s 8,000 capacity
Convention centre by the biggest
music acts in Nigeria such as Vector,
Burna Boy, Reminisce, Phyno, Ycee,

Five suspected members of a human
trafficking ring, paraded by the
National Agency for the Prohibition
of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP,
have confessed to taking Nigerian
girls to Dubai, the United Arab
Emirates, to become commercial s*x
workers.
They also admitted that they
recorded the girls’ n*de videos while
they were taking oaths…
According to PUNCH, the suspects –
Blessing Gabriel, 25; Precious Ejiro-
Owoh, 29; Rose Gabriel, 25; Priscilla
Bassey, 33; and 38-year-old Terry
Smooth – were apprehended by the
agency on September 8, 2015, while
one of their victims, identified only
as Ann, had been rescued.
While Ann was being rehabilitated
at the NAPTIP office, the suspects
were assisting with information that
could lead to the arrest of fleeing
members of the syndicate.
It was learnt that two of the victims
of the syndicate, Ann and Chisom,
had fled from Dubai in August,
making the gang to put their n**e
visuals on the social media.
The visuals, showing the girls
swearing to oaths of allegiance, were
said to have been sent to the agency.
The Lagos Zonal Command officials
of NAPTIP on Tuesday, September 8,
arrested Dubai-based Blessing who
confessed to have trafficked Ann.
It was learnt that the lady, who
reportedly sneaked into the country
for a traditional marriage, was
arrested at the Agboroko village, Iba
area of Lagos.
It was also learnt that the officials
arrested other gang members in the
Lekki Phase 1 and Ajah areas.
Blessing, who claimed that she
worked with a travel agency in
Dubai, confessed that she sent
N35,000 to bring Ann from Nigeria
as a commercial s*x worker in
Dubai.
The suspect claimed that the
arrangement was with the consent of
the victim.
She said, “I did not know the victim
from anywhere. Gina, who has not
yet been arrested, is my friend in
Dubai. She was the one who told me
that she needed a girl from Nigeria
to do “runs”. I then told Precious, my
Nigerian friend, to get me someone.
“Gina sent N35,000 to prepare the
girl that would be brought. That was
in July. So, it happened that the girl,
Ann, was brought to Dubai. I
personally went to pick her from the
airport.
“When she came to Gina, the girl
was taken inside a room, stripped
and asked to say an oath. I was not
there; I was not the person that
stripped her. She did the job for
about a month before she fled Dubai.
“I knew they were bringing her for
commercial s*x; and she was also
aware. She told Precious that she was
ready to travel out of the country
and do any kind of work.”
Precious, who confessed to luring the
girl to travel to Dubai, pleaded that it
was her first time in the deal.
The NAPTIP Lagos director, Joseph
Famakin, said the n**e video was
released on the Youtube, after Ann
escaped from the ring, adding that
the syndicate also forced the girls to
swear to oaths.
“We call on all Nigerians to join
hands with the agency to nip in the
bud human trafficking in the
country.”

The event graced the high and
mighty as several musical acts
performed.
There were mixed reactions
however, when two headlining acts
who were expected to perform at the
show were not present.
Wizkid and Davido were missing
and fans were not happy about it.
Davido had earlier twitted,
confirming that he would be present
at the show but was not able to show
up.
